It is surprising that what you found normal, turned to "nonsense" in a matter of 16 minutes !

What you wanted to point out cannot be faulted - but the choice of words could have been better. Maybe for someone with English as native language, this is normal. But for the rest of us it does sound jarring.

Maybe you wanted to put it across strongly. And then maybe its me who finds it aggressive.
