#72902 - MFD means microfarad! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The SI unit of capacitance is the farad - symbol 'F'.
- but there is no excuse for this meaningless "MFD" nonsense! It is just confusing, unhelpful, and unnecessary. Andy, I find 'MFD' most widely used in literature. Almost as often as 'inch', which isn't a SI unit either... To me 'MFD' seems even to be better than using this 'u', because sometimes people tend to mix 'n' and 'u' and then there's total confusion. I have no problem with 'MFD'. If I see it, I know what is meant. Kai |
