------------------------------- The SI unit of capacitance is the farad - symbol 'F' The SI symbol for the 10-6 multiplier - micro - is the lowercase Greek letter 'µ' or "mu" I agree with Andy that a microFarad cannot be denoted as "MFD". We have 3 different prefixes which can be easily mixed if we don't take care: micro, milli, Mega. Their use is well defined by SI, and there is no excuse of NOT implementing it. How many times we have seen: mHz (instead of MHz), KHZ (instead of kHz), MA (mA) etc. It requires just a bit more discipline in writing the units, that's all Regards, Slobodan |
