If someone is killed, because you violated a well known and law become standard you will be put into prison! That's what happens when someone takes your words out of context. Let me clarify what I meant - law covers some cases and neglects others. Like here, some countries care about EMI, others don't. I want to be on the good side, no matter where the law is - even if local laws permit high EMI, I want to reduce it, not because someone in the government wants to force me, or wants to conform to some international standard, but because it's just the right thing to do. Reversing your claim: If my law permits it, I might make my device in such way that even if someone is killed, I would be on the safe side ("the device was conforming to the law") BUT I prefer to make it in such a way that nobody gets hurt, even if my caution isn't required by law. I'm really tired to read such overweening statements. If you want to be treated seriously, then comply to the standards. Some standards were written by wise people. Some are plain dumb, and not because they are too strict, but because they are too loose. So, okay, the standard says the socket is rated 3A, so I can safely conform to the standards with a 3A relay. But what if someone changes something and plugs in something that takes 10A and replaces the breaker wire with a nail? Certainly it's THEM who violate the rules, but I can try to foresee it and either put an extra breaker or use a 10A relay, saving the poor fool's life instead of helping the evolution take its course. Very competent people introduced them as reaction to the occurence of thousands over thousands of terrible accidents with many many hurted and killed people! ...in some countries. If in my country they didn't, does that mean I can neglect the problem? |
