#74936 - 8085 kits - Arif
Responding to: ???'s previous message
"Still lot of company here making 8085 "

Interesting. Which are THOSE companies ? I will be glad to know a few of them - so that I can steer clear of them.

Arif, old-is-gold has its limitations and a very severe one when it comes to technology. Already we have plenty of issues on sourcing new technology items here in India and if we also make up our mind to stick to 8085 and 8748 who can help us ? I do understand that some institutions still swear by 8085, and the 82xx class of chips - OK you can't cure them but just make sure that nobody known to you join such institutions!

Anyone who has developed full code for an equipment and gone upto the stage of making it work will accept this :The MCU with Flash shine like a star in these cases. I shudder to think of the days of simple 8085+EPROM; 20minute Erasure;program; fix back; only to find you forgot to download the corrected code; another 20 minutes...
