#75619 - A scope IS a magic wand! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Still, you don't exactly know what to look at with the scope.
Well, I would exactly know, what to look at with a scope!!! Within 5 minutes, or even less, I would definitely find out: 1. Whether setup times are violated, 2. Whether hold times are violated, 3. Whether enable pulse has correct width, 3. Whether there is ringing superimposed to edges, 4. Whether ALE pulse looks properly, etc, etc, ... A scope is not a magic wand that fixes all your problems... Of course, it is!!! Without checking your circuits with a scope you are totally blind! The only you can do then is to HOPE, that everything works as intended... I would never (NEVER!!!) finish the designing phase of a microcontroller project without having checked ALL the various signals with a scope! Kai |
