The acid based echant is much more dangerous if spilled or splashed on you.
There are also ammonia persulphate etchants.
This is almost purely a hobbie solution production boards are best prototyped on a "run" board.
For the use intended all these etchants work well subject to understanding the quirks of each. Terry
