#83024 - ISP
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Again Aaron,

Yes, ISP stands for In System Programming. Your Atmel ยต-controller has bootloader firmware already in it. You access it most commonly through a particular hardware configuration at bootup. You can also access it via a software configuration, as described in the Atmel documentation. Even though you have your development board up and running, I still recommend that you do your first "Hello World" program as I described in my other post (skeletal setup). FLIP and Keil are great packages, but doing it yourself once is an extraordinary learning exercise. Moreover, it will only take a couple to a few hours of your group working together on it (well under a whole day). For example, by doing it yourself once, you will probably learn why only certain registers are bit-addressable, and why others are not. You could use Keil and FLIP for your entire life and never learn that one.

Just my two cents worth.
