He already HAS a copy of FLIP, Atmel's bootloading software - hyperterminal is likely to lead to early madness.

Aaron, give your "hardware" guys a test - get them to add a couple of LEDs to the board so you can see what the hell is going on without having to write/hack/modify LCD code.

If you want to TELL the hardware gys how to add the LEDs.. keep looking on here, we have covered it myriad times !

And like Joe said, there isn't any such thing as the "hardware" guys and the "software" guys - you are all in the same boat "embedded" engineering needs both skills in all team members.

You will all be "up close and personal" with everything.
