#84583 - Same Story? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Once I heard a nice and true story: A military application was intended to use new transmitter technology running at 433MHz. Unfortunately, in the same country garage door openers already worked at the same frequency. So, when the military started the new transmitter thousands of people couldn't open their garages in the morning... I heard a very similar story about the remote central locking control on, I think, Land Rover Discoveries. They happened to use the same frequency as the Italian Police - so, if you parked your Discovery near an Italian police station (ie, where the transmitter is), you couldn't unlock it! Maybe it was just British Discoveries visiting Italy, but you get the idea... |
