Looking at this circuit, it seems that it's basically just using the 89C2051 to convert from RS232/Async to SPI.
You're often suggesting using a cheap, little '51 for doing such simple IO tasks: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=84843 Surely this can be taken as just a practical illustration of the technique? No need to worry that the thing on the other end of the SPI is a non-8051! |
