#88153 - not just a com2spi Responding to: ???'s previous message |
1. It is not a simple COM2SPI. If it would be so, there had to be a rather sophisticated software on the host/PC side, doing the programming protocol.
Here, the rather vanilla 2051 performs the programming, intelhex conversion, user interface. Very similar to the ISP-over-serial in RD2's, DS89C4xx's et al. All you need on the host side is a good terminal program; hence this is virtually platformless. 2. It is easy to modify it to program any SPI-like ISP '51, such as AT89S5x and maybe LPC9xx. Sounds more like '51-ish now? 3. Pity the 2051 SW is not open source. Jan Waclawek |
