#88133 - Options, Options Responding to: ???'s previous message |

To give the builder a choise between an 'integrated' bridge and one with four discrete diodes, maybe? Steve M. Taylor said:
...hence the words OPTIONAL on the discrete bridge ??? Ah, yes, right. It's just badly labelled: the way it's labelled suggests that the discrete bridge is an optional extra; in fact, the option is to use either the discrete diodes or the integrated bridge. Further options would be to just use a single diode - making it reverse-polarity protected, rather than polarity-independent - or to do away with the diodes altogether! 1N4007 does seem somewhat excessive... (may be just one of those cases where the higher rating is actually cheaper...?) |
