I've never seen a Grey coded incremental encoder, absolute, sure, but not incremental. Is this an age thing ?
Neither have I. I think it was in '98 I "learned about" encoders and went through umpteen catalogs to find information (no internet forum those days). I ended up with A-B for money reasons and developed the CPLD encoder decoder because of not knowing the Agilent chip at that time. anyhow When the signal on channel A is comming sooner than signal on channel B, the result is in rotating motor to right. In the other case, when the signal on channel B is commning sooner than signal on channel A, the result is in rotating motor to left. still sound A-B and not gray to me. Erik |
