Not a beginners' task, just wanted David to be aware of an existing solution.
Usually, one has some internal memory (say, 8-32k) performing the switching, perhaps interrupts and so; and switches say at the upper 32k or so (I, know Erik that you know; this is for David).

Nevertheless, he already told us: he needs more data (constants/tables/bitmaps/whatever) memory.

I suspect, a few kB for the program itself would be far far sufficient. What David needs, is perhaps a (maybe paged) big data memory. External. And he needs to learn how to manage data memory from the program (it's C, I do not speak C, somebody help him out).

Of course, reading the bible is a must. David, concentrate on the hardware part for now.
