Give me any program, I will write a few lines at the other end of it completely messing it up (of course, deliberately, but it's the same with coincidence, according to good old Murphy, isn't it?) It's all about discipline. Commenting and careful rereading is a part of it. Self-perfect programming tools are a myth. Jan Waclawek PS. I had the "pleasure" to correct errors of the full-moon-and-Friday-13th in programs - mine as well as others' - and the problem was NEVER(*) in the "tricky part" (if there was any such) or related to it - that parts are too carefully looked at... --- (*) except once but there the "tricky part" contained 3/4 of the whole program - that was a completely bad project - based on my idea, I confess.... |
