#98364 - Probably, not sure Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Craig: I don't remember if it's the Dallas or the TI part, but one of them acknowledges each HEX line with a pass/fail flag immediately based on the HEX file's line checksum. So all you need to do is look for a negative response to each of 1000+ records and you'll know it failed.
Erik: Is it no so? Probably. I've never done an ISP upload in a terminal and checked to see what it responds with when the final EOF line of the hex file is sent. I did mention that a final response after the EOF line would be the best solution and it would require a single bit for the MCU to keep track of and report so I'd be disappointed if the final EOF line did not trigger a final global response of pass/fail. That said, tedious as it may be, it's better than not being able to do it at all if you're in a situation where all you have is a terminal program. At least you have the option.
