Thanks for your reply. Is this a one-off (installation #3 keep blowing the chips) or a more general solution? Yes its one-off. Actually I am buying a new laptop for field programming of micros using flash magic. Now a days laptops dont have serial ports I will be using a USB to Serial Converter for programming. From my friends I have come to know that the laptop ports are more prone to damage and better optoisolate. The idea in my mind is USB Port --> Serial Converter --> RS232 --> optoisolated TTL Converter --> TTL fed to micro. I have to start working with a new laptop in couple of days thus cant wait for farnell or RS maxim devices. Thanks & Regards, Prahlad Purohit |
