I think this ckt is great , just keep in mind not to snap it out when your computer is on.
My personal experience with devices powered from usb is not too good. I realised unless your device can safely be unistalled using the icon in your task bar the computer keeps the power supply ON to the device resulting in 'hotSwap', though usb2.0 supports it I strongly recommend not doing it .
