Since I am told RS232 does not adequately describe the above method of communication AND the correct one has NOT been suggested
it has in my post: it is "serial communication by other means". These micros must have been tricked, because they use the same Baud rate, same number of bits, same number of stop bits, same parity, as the silly thing in the PC which thinks is communicating via the RS232C Port and they understand each other perfectly! First RS232 does not state anything about "Baud rate, number of bits, number of stop bits or parity", it specifies voltage levels. Secondly many with your attitude have had a rude awakening when they replaced the PC. That you get by with violating the standard does not mean that you are correct, it means that you are lucky.
