I think you have a much easier time programming if you have a least a basic knowledge of electronics. I know that when I program I think of chips and bits.. What type of signal I want to go where....But it's a double edged sword. I think a good EE guy should also have a basic knowledge of programming. To better understand what the hardware is supposed to do......
But thats my opinion and unfortuanately only that....I am only a hobbyist
and Electo-mechanical Engineering Technologist.
