Nevertheless, as Scott does not know up to now, whether the destruction is the result of an ESD or accidental short to 110VAC, only recommending him the RC filter might be a bit dangerous. I recommended him an additional unidirectional transzorb, just because he mentioned that circuits conatining that survived, but others not.

It's on Scott now to find out, whether there are accidental shorts to 110VAC or not! Scott, tell us, can accidental shorts to 110VAC be excluded or not?
