#117326 - Noise immunity
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Re noise immunity: I am not quite sure, whether noise immunity in a supervisor is a required feature, really. Think of it, the micro experiences the same (or similar) amount of supply noise and can be thrown off by it quite easily, couldn't it?

If you have a look at Vcc or ground at various locations of a microcontroller board you will notice lots of noise. With a proper layout you get noise which does not seriously erode the noise margins, but enough to possibly trigger the reset chip!

So, a certain noise immunity is one of the basic requirements a reset chip must meet to work properly at all! Otherwise it would permanently reset the micro...
