No,no - there is no problem to buy most of chips here in St.Petersburg. I do work with 8051 from SiLabs, Philips and Infineon as well as with parts from other vendors. The times Russia was associated with "bears and vodka" gone out many years ago.
The only one thing you lost is that some customers ask us to do stuff fot Atmel for their reason. What to say: they pay - we do. Indeed, we do notice them about errata etc but this is not our question once again: if they wish so what?
