and spent a break on huntimg scale specifications. I found all kinds of wonderful resolution statements, but had to hunt and hunt among laboratory scales to find even one with a definition of precision. That one ($6.000+) stated 5 decimal digits of precision after calibration so, even at $6.000 you only get 17 bits. The scale had a calibrate button that flopped a calibraion weight in.
