#121341 - I think I have understood what he means

Please attempt to restate your problem more clearly, so that it makes some sense.

Hhm, please read again what Mahesh wrote:

Mahesh said:
I intend to use an 8051 compatible for generating frequency of 38Khz and making it available at one of the output pins.

So, he wants to use a 8051 derivative and to output 38kHz at one of the port outputs.

Mahesh said:
The frequency generation should be taken care of by microcontroller at hardware level so that no loading is put on normal code execution (Like pin 1 of AT 89C52 which has timer2 output on pin 1).

So, he wants the frequency generation to be done, without that any permanently working code is running. Very probably, because he needs the code for a different task.

Mahesh said:
Another requirement of the project is just an input scanning.

So, he needs also an input to scan a signal of outer world.

Mahesh said:
Kindly suggest a cost effective chip easily available in India with smallest footprint.

So, he doesn't know of any small footprint 8051 compatible and asks for help.

Summuarizing: Mahesh needs a very tiny 8051 derivative with very small footprint, which provides only one input, to scan a signal, and one output, to emit an 38kHz signal. And, the frequency generation should work, without that any code needs permananetly to run.

For me Mahesh's needs are very clearly understandable.

Mahesh, why not using a AT89S52 in a TQFP package, if you are already familiar with the AT89C52? Is very very tiny!
