#121424 - Not kitchen table, but stupid cooks!
Responding to: ???'s previous message

There has been quite a few complaints that 'kitchen table' versions did not work. Nothing like the count of such for Atmel.

Use exactly what ATMEL gives you to program their micros! Means, take the right adapter, connect the right cable and use the right software! And you will hardly have any problems!

Problems arise, because people think they can build the ISP cable adapter by themselves, but by using the wrong chip here, omitting this part there and by using a wrong cable without the correct pinning, which guarantees an efficient shielding against cross talk. It's these people, who make the ATMEL ISP programming to appear unreliable, which in fact is not!! I never had any problems with the right setup.
