What kind of testing would you recommend for a checking if the design would hold good. I mean you have an Idea. From the idea to full fledged production, what kind of procedure would you suggest? Some thing that is not magnanimously detailed, nor specifically over-simplified to not detect the inefficiencies.

I have this software that simulates the 8051 program and shows me what the registers are looking like as my program runs through. That has been exceptionally helpful. But to test, as well as DEBUG a real life circuit could you suggest a few best practices far a non-expert electronics guy.

Please let me know what you think?
