What concerns me, and is of long-term interest to me, is the compatibility between OLD 805x application circuits and these Maxim/Dallas parts. I'm not sure that proving that Intel/AMD's HMOS-II parts work will prove anything useful. Intel and AMD convinced the world that these were useful parts. If they'd been unable to do that, we'd not be having this discussion.
