#132618 - Not so fast with the TK68HC24 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
While I like that chip a lot, and it pays for my kids dental bills, it is not a good fit for the 8051.
It is designed to work closely with the 6811 processor, and the bus cycles are synchronous with the "e" clock. You could bit-bang the clock, but that sure becomes complicated. Also, the 6811 has an initialization cycle that includes this chip. That would have to be duplicated. It could be done, but whoever did it would start saying nice things about the 8255 when they were done! |
