After the experience I've had with ATMEL, I can't recommend them to anyone for anything. I don't use their stuff. None of it. None of my clients use it either. I've made it clear to them that, if they ever use anything ATMEL, irrespective of how much cheaper it is, they'll have to do without my involvment afterward.
