In that case, I agreed with you. He's just too lazy to study serials. What I'm trying to say is, not every beginner has the same opinion as you (and me), and for them, serial device is like a wide river to cross so even if it's possible, they have no intention to cross it. I hope the original thread poster isn't one of them.
