#135356 - understanding basics
Responding to: ???'s previous message

My friend was a beginner, He used to design something similar and using some op-amps and calculations. I suggested him "Why not using *this* serial component", and he replied "I prefer to calculate this op-amp equation than having a component with timing diagrams".

My opinion is otherwise.

p.s. The friend I mentioned above was quite good at hardware and beginner at software.

I started programming with building hardware at first.
But on these days, where I started, I connected Z80-CPU with EPROM, DRAM, PIO, CTC, address logic and so on.
Thus reading timing diagrams was the absolute first point to get a working hardware.

Unfortunately modern hardware (single chip µC) hide the user from understanding the basics.

Thus also many users fails to drive a LCD (HD44780), because they are unable to meet the timing requirements of the LCD.

But if you understand the timing diagrams of the LCD, then it should be easy to understand also the timing diagram of 1-wire.
