#135692 - Current not measured....yet
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I have no way to measure the current drawn by the circuit at the moment, but is it sufficient to say that i use it only to power up an AT89C51ED2 which is in turn connected primarily to a 4x4 Keypad,a 16x2 LCD,an ADC converter (ADC0838), a temperature sensor (LM35), and 2-3 LEDs just as status light indicator. However, the battery is, as mentioned used only for backup purposes during power failure. I can measure the current drawn if an exact number is needed though. Do let me know.

Edit : Can i use a fast switching double diode with common cathode to implement this? For instance, the BAV74 with one anode connected to the main power supply, the other anode to the battery and the cathode to the rest of the circuit.
