#147804 - I will test the series resistor solution
Responding to: ???'s previous message
A series resistor is the solution I will be prototyping to check for problems. The microcontroller datasheets talk about the reset pin as thought it is just another logic level signal.

This would provide a decent margin between a "high" and a "low", but we all have heard of so many issues with RC rest circuits that we tend to be concerned with how that pin acts in an analog manner so to speak.
