I should have re-read the first post From the Atmel AT89C51RC2 data sheet
The rx2 series do, indeed, have RESET instead of !RESET.
Thus my statement NO, it is NOT, the polarity is RIGHT (/RESET for both devices) is wrong.

HOWEVER, I totally stand by the rest of my post re external components to "modify supervisor polarity"
