I would use a software ring counter running at around 20 MHz. Stop it with a button push and display the number.

But I am told that a mathamatical solution called "Chi Squared" will give me a true-er random number result.
no 'mathematical solution' can do that. If mathemathics could produce randomness, it would be a different endeavor.
