The "new" flag is controlled by cookies and is somewhat buggy. Eric has been pushing me to fix that for over a year now, which I plan to do--my first goal is to get the login working for everyone.

However, the fact that the message you just posted doesn't appear as the "last post" and the msg counter doesn't go up for the thread until you hit "Reload" is very weird. Neither of those are controlled by cookies. In fact, I can't see how that could happen. The message is added, the main index screen is displayed with the latest data which must include the message you just posted.

The only cookie usde by the forum are those cookies that have the text "8052" and "Phorum" in them. There should be three. The only cookie used for keeping track of the last message read (for "new" msg determination) is 8052PhorumLastID.
