Good news--I can now reproduce the "login, works, then logged out" problem in IE5. I'll investigate this further now that I have been able to reproduce it in IE5 myself.

As for the other problem of the msg forum not refreshing, I have not been able to reproduce that still, not even with IE5. That can't have anything to do with cookies and I'm wondering if your browser is correctly handling meta forwarding commands correctly and/or cacheing an old copy of the index. I'll look at this once I've solved the login problem.
