#26973 - Students are welcome |
Of course we aren't going to kick students out, and I didn't mean to give that impression in my last post. 8052.com is as much for the beginners as it is for the gurus; and hopefully many beginners will benefit from the forum and eventially *become* gurus and help tomorrow's beginners.
The fact that I do not want to alienate students and other "passer-by's" is exactly why I am looking for input from everybody. Perhaps someone has a fabulous idea of how to increase the quality of the questions without reducing the usefulness of the website for everyone. I'm personally not sure it's possible. I think the easiest way is to continue as we have. It would be nice if people would ask quality questions, but there's no way to guarantee that that will happen. So it's the responsibility of the veterans of 8052.com to be patient with those that are not familiar with the "etiquette." By "veterans" I don't necessarily mean "experts" or "gurus," but rather anyone that's been around long enough to know the etiquette. I suspect the best answer is patience. It's hard being new at something technical. Often you don't even know exactly what you're looking for so it's hard to "search" without someone giving you some direction.
