Taylor wrote: ------------------------------- I think that the internet has led to an attitude where, if it can't be got from a couple of clicks, it isn't worth the effort. ---------------------------------- i think you have identified the real problem. due to fast results one obtains from internet from search engines and forums like these students tend to think that way. i have seen blokes who would not bother to even read the basics and are after really quick results so that they have time for some things more important(whatever it is!).or perhaps it is fashionable and really 'cool'to get something from an international forum. if these kind of people are posting naturally "Get me this,QUICK!!"is going to the fine print.instead of banning them why not do this: 1.if question is amongst the standard queries just tag it with "search reccomended" that way nobody shall bother to read it.craig and steve shall have to invent a symbol for that tag and this may be a round the clock job for you.sorry! 2.if the original poster does not respond within a time limit(2 days)simply delete the thread. 3.as for questioning style ,there are many people here who do not have english as first or even second laguage.so they might not intend to sound impolite but they can.i request you to just ignore that. 4.for non-relevant threads current policy is just fine. i think this forum is great and Mr.Craig Steiner and Mr.Steve Taylor are doing a wonderful job.i hope to continually add to my little knowledge from this forum. regards pranav |
