I understand the posting frustration, i am not sure i would suggest doing anything about it.

This board reflects a community, and by the rules of entry it is not a very "rarified" one. I think the mix of students, hobbyists, and engineers as well as the international mix is (IMHO) actually quite refreshing.

This said, there are a lot of "do my homework" posts. I think this is just "the cost of doing business".

The request to "search first, question later" is reasonable but not likely to ever occur. Check out your office, school, or home. There is a certain personality type who will always ask someone else as an alternative to even the most simple discovery, (as in read the manual).

However, a lot of redundant postings could be circumvented by placing a BIG BANNER on the entry page that says; LOOPBACK YOUR PC SERIAL PORT, DO YOU NOW GET GET RX DATA?
