#2931 - RE: C or ASM ? |
If its open source assembly language... count me in. I don't believe in using closed source code library modules in my micros... its not just software bugs we have to guard against... its now hackers wishing for a fresh arena of mischief. Assembly Language is the only way to really have control on what is going on and its the only way to really compact the protocol code into efficient data structures based state machines. It you want to do a state machine as one must do in "other protocols" that will remain secret and uncursed (or would the word be IrcurseDA?) then assembly is the way to go because you can use digital circuitry state machine compression techniques to reduce the software protocol state machine... how many C programmers ever did such a thing? C adds "C"larity, not "C"ompression. A SITUATIONAL OBSERVATION ========================= Before we get ourselves all worked up into a TCPIP-FRENZY... might I suggest someone take possession of the code upon which all of our plans are being based, and validate its existance? I'd hate be be wasting all this time upon a prank? This is just a situational observation and I make no implications upon the individuals offering wonderful cooperation. -Jay C. Box (a skeptic) |
