RICS has less and simpler instructions than CISC.
Thus most RISC instrucktions can be done in less clocks than CISC instructions. But you need bigger programm memory, since you need often two or more RISC insructions instead a single CISC instruction. Thus assembler programming on RISC was more awkward, since more to write.
