Michael...thats perfect for my solution.

The hilow switch works by way of an additional LM317 and a port pin. The micro essentially can remove one of the resistors on the LM317 and thus drop the voltage. Regardless your interpretation of my situation was perfect.

I appologize about my lack of information and the length of this thread. All great ideas.
