I agree, the schematic could be misleading for someone who has only a digital or software background. I recognized that it was a 0-5V input only when I saw that the 4067 was powered by +5V. But this only because I have used analog switches in the past. If I didn't have such experience, I would assume that it could handle 0-10V.
