Considering your situation, If I were you I would look at finding yourself a new approach to supporting the programming and debugging of your programs. These days you are best advised to use a FLASH based microcontroller that can be programmed via ISP (In System Programming). Almost all of the tools to communicate out to the target hardware and support the ISP capabilities are Windows based. There are free tools and tools that cost money. My favorite setup is to use the JTAG downloader and debugging you can get from Cygnal at http://www.cygnal.com for just $99 US.
