There are many embedded systems running java,admittedly without a gui but thats beside the point.If you look at dallas semicondutors you'll even find an i-button running java.I think its a case of a bit of a kneejerk reaction from some people when you mention stuff that they dont like.
Some objectors to Java on a '51 are not necessarily objectors to Java on an appropiate processor Do not confuse the objections to running Java on a '51 with a general objection to Java.
So often, in this forum, does pantyhose pop up. Darn it, in embedded, one size does not fit all.
