I don't think there's room for advanced compression techniques in this setup. The hadware cannot be changed, so additional serial EEPROMs are out of the question. Azhar will have to turn over every byte and see if he can sqeeuze in another bit. The radix-50 solution is something to consider. Another thing to consider is a review of the existing code and optimize it, so it has the smallest possible footprint, leaving more space for data.


These days, GSM has the option to pack 7-bit characters without wasting 1 bit per byte for SMS - I think the term is "PDU?"


Some people seem to be able to squeeze even more "info" into less bytes, "if u c what i mean"...:-)
