1992 VS 2004 ?
Maybe the 1992 model......it may be worth more as a collectors item down the road...and the time down the road is 12 years shorter. On the other hand there is some legitimacy to what Charles says, albeit not necessarily 100% related to the embedded microcontroller business. There is always a demand for things "built like they were in the old days". Many people are getting sick and tired of plastic covered particle board furnature and demanding hand crafted solid wood pieces. There is a growing market for meat products at the grocer that come straight from the ranch in much the same way as was done 75 years ago. Does this apply to electronics? Maybe some with certain components but certainly not all. I still see people selling solid walnut or mahogany encased computers but at the same time the internal guts are the state of the art motherboards. By the way, I drive a 1992 Chevy because it is made mostly of steel (like "in the olden days") and not all plastic body like many cars of 2004. Michael Karas |
